Nathalie Locicero, of Entry Lane in Kendal, died in hospital following the crash on the A684 between Sedbergh and Kendal near New Hutton.
The 29-year-old was a pillion passenger on the motorbike.
Queen Katherine School in Kendal, where she had worked for six years, described her as a talented language teacher who was much loved.
A statement issued by the school said: "Staff, students, governors, parents and friends of the Queen Katherine School are in shock at the sudden and untimely death of a much loved teacher.
"Nathalie was a talented languages teacher who had taught at the school for six years. She had energy, enthusiasm and an immense love of life and her chosen profession.
